Animation Extended Lab

What it is?

Animation Extended Lab is a development workshop for animation and immersive audiovisual projects aimed at animation post-graduate talents (or equivalent course) or up to four years after graduation.

Who is it for?

Animation Extended Lab is open to authors, directors or producers with a project for an animated short or serial at the stage of early development, intended for festival and theatrical, television or immersive distribution circuit (video game and extended reality).

When is it scheduled?

Animation Extended Lab is scheduled each year from April to November.

Where is it located?

Selected projects will be paired with a mentor and will follow a tailored course of one-to-one meetings and collective lectures all to be held online. Each participant and each mentor will have a maximum of six individual meetings between May and November.

The programme will end in Torino in November where they will present their project at the Talents and Short Film Market, in front of an audience composed of international professionals.

What language will be used?

Animation Extended Lab working language is English.

Who are the tutors?

Each participant will be paired with a dedicated mentor chosen inside the animation industry. Confirmed mentor for the 2023 season are : Aneta Ozorek – Director of Kaboom Animation Festival; Board Member of CEE Animation Forum (foto e bio le richiedo!)

How do I apply?

The applications can be submitted through project partner organisations and film schools.

If you are a film school or institution active in the field of animation you can reach out to us to take part in the project.

When is the deadline for submissions?

Animation Extended Lab deadline for submissions for partner institutions is the end of April of each calendar year.

How much does it cost?

Each partner institution involved shall cover a bursary for one student/artist.
