What is it?
What’s The Story? Südtirol/Alto Adige is an intensive five-day short film development writing workshop – part of the new Talents Generator Factory initiative promoted by Talents and Short Film Market (TSFM).

The workshop is led by two experienced tutors and will require active participation and a mindset open to collaboration from all participants. The work will be conducted both in class during the face-to-face hours and in between the meetings, with specific tasks and assignments to be accomplished for the following day.

At the end of the workshop, two participants will be picked by the tutors and invited to take part in another workshop happening during Talents and Short Film Market Summer Event #1 from June 29th to July 2023 in Bozen/Bolzano and Schlanders/Silandro, Italy. The second event will be focused on the feasibility and production of the developed projects and it will be concluded with a co-production pitching session and a series of one-on-one sessions with film professionals. The second workshop does not include any registration fees for participants. Accommodation (B&B) will be provided by TSFM. Travel costs will be covered by each participant.

Who are the tutors?
What’s The Story? Südtirol/Alto Adige tutors will be Ella Cieslinski and Massimiliano Nardulli.

Ella Cieslinski graduated from Film University in Munich in 2018. Since then she has written and co-written several feature projects, as well as supported projects as a script consultant. In accompanying directors in their search for writing she sees her responsibility in guiding them to their inner desire for the movie and the need to create it: in order to find the most honest way to tell it and to approach the characters. No matter if it’s a fictional, documentary or experimental film. In her writing and filmmaking, she was always interested in complex relationships, the subconsciousness of the human being and the exploration of communication – verbal or nonverbal – with each other, nature and our surroundings. Having lived parts of her life in Brazil, France, Uruguay, Russia and the US., Ella feels naturally drawn to international projects with their own melody and rhythm of each language.

Massimiliano Nardulli. During the last 15 years he worked as curator, programmer and artistic director for several festivals around Europe among which Brest European Short Film Festival and Amerique Latine Biarrtiz (France), Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (Switzerland), NexT and Timishort (Romania), !F Istanbul (Turkey). Massimiliano is one of the creators and curators of TSFM (Italy), of the European Talent Lab for low budget films LESS IS MORE and of Word-Frame, a laboratory for storytelling and scriptwriting for short films. He has worked as script advisor, associate producer and tutor for several international projects. He is a member of Académie des Arts et Techinque du Cinéma – César (France) and Gopo Award (Romania), and he sat on the board of Breizh Film Fund (Brittany, France).
